The Fellowships Creating Partnerships Program (FCP) is currently in the planning stage for the next programmatic cycle tentatively scheduled for spring of 2001. (Please also visit FCP Updates and Participating Organizations to learn more about the FCP's current collaborative partners and their projects.) 1) Grassroots Partnerships Participating organizations will be grassroots groups that understand the value of networking and cross-training with their international counterparts. Groups will also be selected based on their ability to contribute the skills, vision, and commitment necessary for strong collaborative efforts and lasting impacts. 2) Collaborative Projects and Issue Areas Future programs will focus on issue areas of strategic importance in the nonprofit sectors of both the US and Japan. The issue area will change during each program. Issue areas for 2001, 2002, and 2003 programs will be available in late summer 2000. 3) Study Tours The program will begin with Study Tours in the U.S. and Japan. The tours will serve as an orientation to the nonprofit sector of each country and help JUCEE in matching U.S. and Japanese partner organizations. 4) Fellowships in the U.S. and Japanese Partner Organizations The Fellowship portion of the program will be bi-directional (US to Japan, Japan to US). Each fellowship will be 1.5 months long and will include training sessions to strengthen participating organizations in the areas of fundraising, strategic planning, evaluation, financial management, and other areas based on the needs of participants. 5) Opportunities for Collaborative Funding The program will conclude with a collaborative funding opportunity providing participating organizations with a chance to impact their issue area through joint projects. Emphasis will be on creative approaches that build on the shared missions of the participants and have a lasting impact on the issue at hand.
