Organizational Position:
The Program Coordinator will work under the
general supervision of the Managing Director in Oakland and in direct
cooperation with the Senior Program staff for the Japan-U.S.
Nonprofit Internship Program (IP) and the Nichibei Pathfinding
Opportunity Program (NPOP). See website for full

Job Duties:
Job duties will represent the many diverse aspects of the planning,
implementation, and follow-up for JUCEE's IP and NPOP programs. Both
programs focus on nonprofit-based exchanges between the U.S. and
Japan.
Position includes at least one opportunity for travel to Japan per
year.
The Program Coordinator will be expected to play a key role in
organizing and guiding specific aspects of these core programs in
coordination with counterpart staff in the JUCEE Oakland and Tokyo
offices. Other tasks central to the job will include recruiting U.S.
participants (NPOP), recruiting U.S. host organizations (IP), making
travel arrangements, designing training sessions, planning and
managing public events, monitoring and evaluating, and reporting on
the program to funders.

Requirements:
* Fluency in Japanese and English;
* Ability to work independently, follow through on assignments,
prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines, and have strong
attention to detail;
* Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills;
* Cultural sensitivity appropriate for working in a multicultural
environment with diverse constituencies;
* Macintosh computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FileMaker,
PageMaker, Eudora)

Other desired skills:
* Experience in running international exchange programs
* Knowledge of in U.S.-Japan relations, cross-cultural issues and the
nonprofit sector;
* Experience in managing interns or volunteers.

* Competitive compensation depending on experience/skills, wage base
is stipulated in accordance with the industry-standard prevailing wage
of northern California nonprofit organizations.
